I’ve traveled by air several times this year. While travel planning I asked myself, is there technology out there, beyond face mask filters that will keep me safe from COVID19? My doctor best friend advised me to look into portable air purifiers. So, I did some research and discovered the personal air purifier necklace, Air Tamer A310. It works by emitting over 2 million negative ions per cubic centimeter every second. Its state-of-the-art electrostatic purification creates a 3 foot sphere of cleaner, healthier air around your head. It cleans the air of atomic sized pollutants (e.g. viruses, pollen, smoke, molds and dust mites) that traditional air purifiers (e.g. HEPA) leave behind.
Having stayed overnight in a few hotels, I plug in the USB charger on the nightstand and I wake up with clear sinuses! I wear it whenever I go out in public, and I breathe easy. The charge lasts for several days (150+ hours advertised), so it’s an upgrade from the earlier models that operate with replaceable lithium batteries (A302).
In shopping for the unit, I learned that negative ion charging can have byproducts which produce ozone, and give off a distinct smell. In addition, air purifiers which produce ozone are banned for sale in California due the state’s strict air pollution and health laws. The AirTamer products are approved for sale in California, and don’t produce ozone emissions. This seems to add a premium to the price of the unit as well. At $149, it’s the most expensive model because it’s rechargeable and certified for sale in CA, but from the reviews and my experience, there is no price on your health and peace of mind.
