EcoFlow Delta Max Review

Whether you’re preparing for a natural disaster or heading out on a camping trip, it’s good to carry a backup power source along.

And rightly so when in the past three months, nearly 1 in 3 Americans are reported to live in a county hit by one or more weather disasters.

Portable power stations keep your phone, power tools, and other electronics juiced up and running smoothly. These versatile, compact gadgets can go with you anywhere you need electricity – including to construction sites – where there’s no wall outlet.

Not only that, but these power bank gadgets come in clutch during a power outage when you don’t have a generator or other portable power supply, and need to charge your essential appliances.

I chose the EcoFlow Delta Max for this review, with a focus on how it works and its features.

I love that the power station runs virtually silently, doesn’t need gasoline, and is free of emissions so I can use it safely inside my house during a blackout. Plus, it can run anywhere from 2 to 13 hours on a single charge giving it more versatility for camping, screening a movie in your backyard, or working in a remote corner of your home.

Powerful Features

When it comes to portable power technology, EcoFlow is a leading brand thanks to its compact and practical power stations.

If you’re going off the grid, on a short trip, or a weekend getaway, the EcoFlow Delta Max power station is an absolute must-have. It’s roughly the same weight and size as a standard microwave, providing a steady power stream without the exhaust or noise of a gasoline-powered portable generator.

The Delta Max has an easy-to-use interface, multiple ports, and impressive output that help it stand out from the competition.

The power station provides eco-friendly energy storage solutions and is capable of charging 0-80% in less than an hour. If re-charging at home is unavailable due to an extended power outage, or you are on the go, charge it up at an electric vehicle charging stations (some are even free!) for even faster charging. Plus, it packs a 2kWh capacity, which can go up to 6kWh when you add two Smart Extra batteries.

If you connect the batteries to a Smart Generator and AC outlet, you can extend its functionality and get 3600W dual fast charging support.

Along with that is the ability to conserve energy when the Delta Max reaches 20 percent or lower. The Smart Generator starts automatically and once the power station is fully charged, the generator will shut down and conserve energy.

The power station also has the X-boost technology with industry-leading 3400W that can power appliances like a dryer, fridge, and more so you can keep living normally even during a power outage.

What’s interesting is how you can charge the EcoFlow Delta Max between uses and while it’s in use. You can use solar energy through the EcoFlow Solar Panels and convert the power station into a near unlimited power supply.

Another exciting feature that I’ve come to expect from an EcoFlow power station is compatibility with EcoFlow’s mobile app. This makes it a WiFi-enabled power station, and able to work with the Smart Generator, which automatically and efficiently charges your solar generators when they need a boost.

You can control and monitor everything from input information and charge output to the LCD screen’s brightness right from your mobile device or computer.

Where to Use It

Besides using the EcoFlow Delta Max as a backup power supply solution during a power outage, extended blackout, or emergency, it’s also incredibly useful for other applications. For instance, you can use it in a live or public event, road trip, camping, or for home DIY projects.

If you’re a professional, the power station comes in handy out in the field for equipment, tools, and entertainment gear like power lighting, speakers, and more.

Plus, it’s small enough to fit in a van, trailer, RV, boat, cabin, jeep, or yacht without making as much of a ruckus as traditional generators do.

Battery Capacity, Shelf Life, and Life Cycles

When you examine the Delta Max, the first thing you’ll notice is its excellent battery capacity, which, as I’ve already mentioned, you can expand with extra battery packs to a staggering 6kWh.

However, you can still use the power station to charge and power appliances that demand a fair amount of electricity – without expanding the internal battery.

For instance, if you have a full-sized refrigerator, the Delta Max can power it for nearly two days. Plus, it can run a 32-inch LCD TV for about three days or charge a standard laptop more than 60 times.

Imagine how much more battery life you can get by expanding the battery life – almost triple these figures!

But that’s not all that’s there to know about the Delta Max’s battery life.

EcoFlow was specifically designed to supply reliable power during power outages induced by natural disasters, grid failures, and other emergencies. It’s no wonder the battery has a great shelf life.

If you plan to use the power station as a backup or emergency power source, you’ll need a unit you can rely on to charge all your devices and appliances.

The Delta Max boasts a shelf life of over 12 months, meaning you can leave it in storage for a full year and it will still have a charged battery when you need it to.

In addition to the Delta Max’s extraordinary battery and shelf life, its internal battery comes with a rating of more than 800 life cycles.

Life cycle rating is an estimate of the number of times you can charge and drain the power station’s battery before its storage capabilities start to wear out.

With an 800+ life cycle rating, the Delta Max can work during any and every emergency for a long time before it starts losing its storage potential.

Keep Your Electric Gear Running

Simply put, the Delta Max is a powerful, compact, and easy to use power station that meets and exceeds expectations. It’s also much lighter than other power stations in its league and offers some of the fastest charging in the portable power station industry.

With great additions like the EPS mode and WiFi connectivity, as is the ability to expand its overall battery capacity, there’s just nothing like it out there.

Overall, this extremely capable unit is something worth getting excited about!
